History of Transiar

Transiar SA began at a small valve making factory in 1848 in France.

The creation of an industrial unit in Spain and a sales subsidiary in Great Britain marked our entry into the international markets. In the period between 1969 to 2002, Legris SA has established over 30 sales and industrial sites worldwide.

1988 – Legris, a division of Groupe Legris Industries

Marked the creation of Groupe Legris Industries, an international mechanical group quoted on the Paris Stock Exchange; Legris SA became a subsidiary of the Group

1994 – Certified quality ISO 9001 certification of all Legris sites in France.

In the period between 1994 to 2000, 11 Legris SA sites worldwide have been certified ISO 9000.

1996 - 1997 – Creation of Legris Transair and Legris Autoline

As a result of the technology of push-in fittings, Legris SA designed, developed and launched under the Transair brand, compressed air pipe work systems which can be assembled immediately and are easily modified – “the intelligent compressed air systems”. The following year marked, creation of the Legris Autoline subsidiary, dedicated to the automobile 1st assembly activity (light vehicles and heavy goods vehicles).

2000 – 2003– New sites and acquisition

Legris establishes itself for the first time in south-America with the creation of Legris Brazil. Then, Legris creates its 5th subsidiary in Asia: Legris India. With the purchase of the Bell-Hermetic company, (3rd German manufacturer of high pressure connections), Legris extended its activities to the hydraulic market and offers a wider range to its customers. 2003 - A subsidiary in South Africa Legris establishes itself for the first time in Africa with the creation of Legris South Africa.

2003 to 2007– Tremendous Growth

Transair installed over 200,000 worldwide.

2008 - Transair Acquired by Parker Hannifin Corporation

As part of the continuous development of our business, we are pleased to inform you that Legris SA featuring the product lines of Connectic, Transair and Autoline has been acquired by Parker Hannifin Corporation, the world’s leading diversified manufacturer of motion & control technologies and systems on October 1, 2008.
